Peers sind Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus dem gleichen beruflichen Umfeld. Die Peers durchlaufen ein mehrstufiges Ausbildungsprogramm um Kolleginnen, Kollegen und Führungskräfte nach kritischen Ereignissen wirkungsvoll und anhaltend unterstützen zu können.
Das Peer Modell bieten viel Vorteile. Die Peers kennen das Arbeitsumfeld und die Besonderheiten des jeweiligen Berufs, sie können Reaktionen besser einschätzen und zuordnen und Peers sind schnell verfügbar.
Die Unterstützung durch Peers ist pragmatisch und lösungsorientiert.
Für die Betroffenen sind die Vorteile ebenfalls groß. Im direkten beruflichen Umfeld, nach einem kritischen Ereignis steht ein Ansprechpartner/in zur Verfügung. Hilfe wird sofort angeboten und benötigt keine Formalitäten oder Kostenzusagen.

1 / Individual Crisis Intervention and Peer Support Course
Crisis intervention is NOT psychotherapy, rather it is a specialized acute emergency mental health intervention which requires specialized training/ As physical first-aid is to surgery, crisis intervention is to psychotherapy. Crisis interventions are typically done individually (one-on-one) or in groups. This program is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of, and a specific protocol for, individual intervention.
Please note that duration of the course is a two day minimum class. The duration can be extended and adjusted to the needs of the customer. The topics listed below will be covered over the course of two days. Discussions, Role plays and related topics can be included in the extended version of the course.
